ZIMAKS is used in the treatment of some infections caused by sensitive bacteria. Infections using ZIMAKS include:
Pharyngitis, tonsilitis (throat and tonsillitis): These infections, Streptococcus pyogenes caused by a bacterium,
Acute otitis media: In cases caused by some bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pyogenes, which are affected by penicillin,
Sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses): When this infection is caused by some bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae or MoraxelIa catarrhalis, which are affected by penicillin,
Acute bronchitis in the lower airways (inflammation of the bronchi that carry air in the lungs): In cases caused by some bacteria called Streptococcus pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Haemophilus influenzae, which are affected by penicillin
Acute uncomplicated cystitis and urethritis in the urinary tract (inflammation of the bladder and the end of the urinary tract): In cases caused by some bacteria called Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis or Klebsiella
ZIMAKS is highly resistant to beta-lactamase enzymes (enzymes released by bacteria that break down antibiotics).
